An Insurance Company located in Westchester County, New York has an opportunity for a Senior Accountant who will handle the following responsibilities: |
| Duties |
- Prepare, review and analyze annual and quarterly statutory statements for filing with regulatory authorities
- Maintain general ledger system, including review of journal entries and trial balances
- Prepare and review financial reports to the executive management committee, the board of directors and regulatory agencies
- Respond to business unit inquiries regarding statutory accounting issues
- Coordinate financial reporting among appropriate departments
- Respond to state insurance department requests as required
- Prepare quarterly business unit income statement by line of business for management reporting
- Assist in preparation of audited financial statements and footnote disclosures for the insurance companies, company benefit plans, etc.
- Assist in fulfilling special requests and research statutory accounting issues as required
- Interaction with outside auditors in preparation of audited financial statements
- Supervise staff of accountants
