- 3+ years of experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Excel and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with automated General Ledger systems (Oracle, AccPac and Navision system background a plus)

A Retail Company located in Bergen County, New Jersey is searching for a Staff Accountant who will handle the following responsibilities:

| Duties |
- Monthly financial statement preparation
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries
- Assist reporting and depreciation
- Cost of goods sold preparation and analysis
- Budget versus actual analysis
- Work with store bookkeepers/general manager to reflect accurate and timely results
- Preparation and integrity of the monthly financial statements and account analysis, including Fixed Assets for the company owned stores
- Support store management needs and maintain an expected level of “customer service”
- Assist with supervision of junior accountant
- Assist with the physical inventories and inventory valuation
- Support financial planning and analysis team with research, analysis and reporting.
- Assist the internal auditors in providing explanations and analysis for the quarterly reviews and the year-end audit for the company
- Backup Senior Accountant on financial modules, including implementation and functional responsibilities
- Assist with special projects, as business needs change
