Experienced chemist for direction of radiochemistry production and research operations. 


 


Responsibilities include:



  • Management of radiopharmaceutical production under Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP). This will involve identifying steps to achieve production goals and coordination of associated efforts.

  • Development, troubleshooting, and maintenance of remote radiochemical process apparatus

  • Laboratory work, including reagent preparation, quality control testing, experimental research, and development of test methods

  • Radiochemical processing (using remote semi-automated process apparatus)

  • Maintenance and improvement of production facilities

  • Overall lab and chemistry records management, with two supporting personnel (lab chemist, administrator)

  • Lab techniques: UV/VIS spectroscopy, gamma spectroscopy, aseptic technique (sterility and endotoxin testing), Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), autoclave


Qualifications:



  • B.A. /B.S. in Chemistry, Radiochemistry, or Chemical Engineering. Advanced degree preferred.

  • 3-5 years (minimum) industrial production experience

  • Experience with GLP/GMP compliance strongly preferred

  • Experience in safe handling of radioisotopes desired, but not essential

  • Strong ‘hands-on’ and mechanical orientation with good laboratory technique

  • Ability to thrive in a demanding and regularly time-critical environment

  • Can quickly learn and apply new skills and techniques

  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills

  • Good PC computer and software (MS Word, Excel) skills

  • Strong work ethic

In addition, the individual should be flexible and seek to work in a small (10-15 people), diverse team environment.  Supporting staff includes a small team of instrumentation physicists, engineers, and technicians, capable of providing a high level of support in instrumentation, electronics, automation, and software.
